Today we had breakfast at a different cafe - Noahs Kitchen. It was much better than yesterdays place. We had planned to go into the city and do the tourist thiing. Lynn has been feeling unwell with a nasty cough, we suspect a chest infection. She decided not to come out but stay home & rest & sleep. She was supposed try & find a doctor. So Brian came with us & Sue had her second day going on the tube train. Something she had vowed not to do. We went through to Embankment Station & headed up to Leicester Square to see if we could find some brochures on places to go. On the way we came across the Extinction Rebellion mob. They have taken over Trafalgar Square and some of the surrounding streets. After Leicester Square we decided to go back to the tube & make our way to Borough Market. On the way back to the tube station Sue had a vigorous conversation with a couple of the XR demonstrators - one walked away when she could not answer some of Sue's questions. Anyway we tubed it to Cannon St & then walked across London Bridge to the market. It is a food market with foods from all over the place. We had difficulty finding a coffee snop but the one we finally found was absolutely flat out. Following this we walked along the South banm of the Thames to Westminster Bridge. Both ends of the bridge had several policd cars parked & coppers everywbere. When we got to the other side I spoke with one of them & he was in from Cornwall. We did not see any Brexit protextors as they must have been arou d the other end of parliament buildings. Then ee walked back towards Trafalgar Squzre & stopped at 10 Downing St where we had a chat with another copper, who was from Exeter. Then just before we reached Trafalgar Square there was heaps of police & police vans ready to arrest people. The protestors were sitting over various roads. At tnis point Brian de ided to head back to the hotel to check on Lynn. Soon after we decided to go back and have a walk in Hyde Park. We stopped at Kensington Palace & looked in thd gift xhop & gardens. Then we went to the Prince Alfred Hotel for a cider before goi ng home ; then out gk dinner at the Phoenix Hotel. Lynn had decided ot to see a doctor & said she will maybe see a doctor on the ship.
Yesterday we also found out that our ship had a near mutiny from passengers due to missed ports, stale food & some toilets being blocked. We believe the problem was caused by bad weather from an ex-hurricane which swept through where they were. Tomorrow we are off to Southampton to board the ship so we will see what we find out.
